The main goal is to revive the Spirit Trees in the four regions around the Forest of Echoes, starting with the one in Bloomfield. This Harvest Moon Echoes of Teradea walkthrough covers the prologue and the first two Bloomfield chapters, with links to the pages for the systems you use along the way.
What do you do in the prologue?
The prologue is a run of tutorials and cutscenes that ends with a new request: revive the Spirit Trees in the four regions. You meet the villagers, get the DocPad from Doc Jr., and learn how requests, statues and the map work.

How do requests and objectives work?
Set one request as your main objective and keep up to two more as sub-objectives. A sub-objective's destination shows as a blue pin on the minimap in the top right.

Setting a new main objective moves the previous one down to a sub-objective. New requests and information also arrive in the mailbox on the DocPad.
What do power statues and warp statues do?
Small goddess statues that glow with a mysterious light are power statues. Press the action button in front of one to wake the power wisp inside and get a power wisp fruit; some need a puzzle solved first.

Collect the fruits and offer them near the Harvest Goddess statue for rewards. Examine a praying warp statue to unlock the map for that area; as the goddess regains strength, you can warp between statues from the map. The beginner tips cover how to approach statues without scaring them, and the map guide shows where they help.
What happens in Bloomfield Chapter 1?
Bloomfield Chapter 1 is "Blossoming Trust with Animals," and it sends you to the Animal Center, whose keeper looks after wild animals as well as farm ones. Reviving Bloomfield's Spirit Tree finishes the chapter.

You will use the animals guide here for horses, pets and wolves.
What happens in Bloomfield Chapter 2?
Bloomfield Chapter 2 is "Lindsey's Dream and William's Battle," and it begins once the first chapter is done. It follows Lindsey's wish to ride in the village's equestrian challenge, and William tells you about Tidewind, the fishing village on the far side of the plains.

After the first chapter the map opens up to the other villages. Check the world map before you head out, since the Desert and cold areas are too harsh to visit early.
